Nile Safari Lodge Location – On the banks of River Nile – the world’s longest river and Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest national park rests the luxurious lodge.

Game Drives.

Game drive is undoubtedly the highlight of any African safari. You can experience the thrill of viewing wildlife in its natural environment from the comfort of a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop up roof. At Murchison falls, you are certain to catch sight of some of the legendary big four while photography never disappoints.

The richest wildlife spot for great game drives in a Murchison falls safari lies between the Victoria Nile and the White Nile. Guests can access the savannah through the Paraa Vehicle Ferry – a motorised pontoon that usually offers crossings every couple of hours in each direction. The most impressive area is Buligi with its savannah grasslands, around the Victoria Nile delta on Lake Albert.

Launch cruise to the base of the waterfalls and the Nile Delta.

A 3-hour Launch cruise downstream towards the delta at Lake Albert is an excellent alternative to the game drive.

Enjoy an exciting boat cruise along the lush and green curves of the mystical Nile to find the rare shoebill storks and other papyrus endemic bird species with a perfect view of the Murchison Falls. Guests can take an early morning with breakfast on-board or a late sunset ride.

Hiking.

This 45-60 minute trail is by far, the most popular hiking option to the top of the waterfalls in addition to a game drive safari or a launch trip up the Paraa stretch. From this spot, you can take breath taking views of the mighty cascade from a range of angles and elevations.

Bird Watching.

This wildly endowed bird watchers’ paradise – Murchison Falls National Park is home to over 1,100 species of birds such as crested crane, Abyssinian ground hornbill, secretary bird, black-bellied bustards, African fish eagle, swallow-tailed bee-eaters, red-throated bee-eaters, francolins and the elusive shoebill stork among others. The lodge’s location makes it an ideal place for ornithologists and keen bird watchers.

Chimpanzee Tracking.

Uganda is home to a modest population of about five thousand chimpanzees distributed across various forests and game parks throughout the country.

The nearby Kaniyo Pabidi Forest (268 sq km) offers an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience to guests. It is a beautiful rain forest dominated by ironwood trees and giant mahogany. This forest provides home to over 800 chimpanzees, and about 6 troops have been habituated for tourism and available for trekking.
