Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is run by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust. It was founded in 1998 and it is well-positioned on Lake Victoria Entebbe.
Today, an estimate of over 50 chimpanzees are hosted in this sanctuary alone plus other varied reptile species. Your trip will begin and end in Kampala/Entebbe.

Detailed itinerary of your 1 day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Watching Trip
After an early morning breakfast, drive to Entebbe to catch up with a boat to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in case your shift is in the morning around 9:00am to 12:00pm or enjoy lunch in case it is an afternoon shift which starts at 1:00pm-4:00pm. Ngamba Island is a 100-acre forested island with orphaned chimpanzees.
Arrive early to enjoy watching chimpanzees as they being fed by caretakers, as they play and as they socialize with each other.
You will also have insight into the site’s history as well as sight some forest birds, enjoy the scenic view of Lake Victoria and a lot more. When returning, you will make a stopover at Equator and if you love swimming, you will have some minutes to cool yourself.
After your chimpanzee exploration at Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and lunch, you will pay a visit to Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) also formerly known as the Entebbe zoo.
This is for you to sight diversity of animals including lions, buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, leopards, giraffes, birds including the shoebill stork and a lot more. Later, drive back to your hotel or place of stay.
