Detailed Itinerary for 17 days Uganda Safari and Rwanda Tour
Day 1; Arrival and do Kigali City Tour
You will meet our All Uganda Safaris guide at the airport in Kigali and have a short briefing. After a few refreshments have a short city tour at the Genocide memorial at Gisozi, the Kandt house.
Dr Richard Kandt founded Kigali city as a colonial out post, he was the 1st German colonial Resident of Rwanda, after lunch transfer to Ruhengeri. Dinner and over night at Mountain View Gorilla Lodge/ Silver back Lodge/ Kinigi Guest house.
Day 2; Gorilla Trekking and Golden Monkey Tracking.
Have morning breakfast, meet up at park headquarters for briefing and later be allocated Gorilla group to track and a professional guide, you are ready for gorilla trekking long hike into the mountains, for a possible glance at the Mountain Gorillas.
After lunch you go for golden monkey trekking.
Day 3; Hiking the Virunga Mountains
Volcanoes national park still has a lot of activities to offer to you. On this day, you are set for mountain climbing experience, in the Virunga Mountains that is Kalisimbi (the highest point in Rwanda), Gahinga, Muhavura, Sabyinyo and Bisoke you can make a choice on which to per take for the day.
Day 4; Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On the 4th of the 17 days Uganda safari and Rwanda tour, head south west to Nyungwe forest national park after breakfast, it is a wealthy scenic view drive, passing alongside the beautiful stores of Lake Kivu.

Day 5; Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest
Early morning after breakfast start the search for chimpanzees. On this trek you may see the jokey and very delectable chimpanzees
After a long morning with the chimps head back to the hotel for lunch and refreshments. Afternoon will be dedicated to the colobus monkeys/a community walk
Day 6; Bird Watching Experience
This morning after breakfast, venture into the day with a special treat from lots of beautiful bird calls in and around the surroundings of the forest.
Go for a nature walk on which you may see various bird special that Nyungwe forest National Park endow which include; White-tailed Blue Flycatcher, Dusky Flycatcher, White-eyed Slaty-Flycatcher, Northern DC Sunbird, Paradise-Flycatcher, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Western Citril, Black-billed Weaver, Collared Sunbird and Brown-throated Wattle-eye.
However, the two highlights of this party were a Grey-headed Nigrita and a Mountain Masked Apalis. Dinner and over night.
Day 7; Nature walks in Nyungwe.
Start day 7 of the 17 days Uganda safari and Rwanda tour with a breakfast then go for another nature walk, on this you are set to also view the water falls forming beautiful mists in the air all day long. Then along with refreshments transfer to Kigali city. Dinner and over night Laico/mille Collines/Serena golden hills.
Day 8; Cross to Uganda – Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After an early breakfast continue on a long picturesque journey to Uganda safari, passing via Gatuna border it’s approximately 2 hours of luxury drive to the border. Dinner and over night; Mweya safari lodge/ Jacana lodge/Katara river lodge.
Day 9; Game drive and Launch Cruise on Kazinga channel.
Have breakfast and embark on Early morning have a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, the park is gifted with quite a variety of animals ranging from Elephants, buffaloes warthogs, giant Forest hog, antelopes and many more.
After lunch have a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel which connects the two water bodies Edward and George.
You may have a close peek at large schools of Hippos and bar of Crocodiles, lots of bird species like saddle billed stork ,open billed stork, yellow billed stork, African skimmer, African fish eagle, great cormorants and others.

Day 10; Game drive and Maramagambo Forest
You will have another spectacular game drive in the park on which you may view leopards, lions and many other wild animal species.
After lunch visit the Maramagambo Forest for an audacious tour, of different flora and fauna, that several primate species you will have a chance of visiting the bat cave and have a close look on how a python’s feasts on bats. Dinner and over night.
Day 11; Transfer Kibale Forest National Park
Drive to Kibale Forest National Park, the park is endowed a with great number birds and primates. this has been noted to be the best with a many primate totaling to 13 species.
Some of these primates are the Red- tailed monkeys, Blue monkeys, and white checked mangabey, Olive Baboon, Chimpanzee, Black, White and Red Colobus.
After lunch you will use different other trails in the park, on which you may also view Bush bucks, Bush pigs, African Civet, giant Forest Hog, Blue duiker etc. Dinner and over night Ndali Lodge /primate lodge.
Day 12; Bigodi Wetland
After an early morning breakfast head to bigodi wetland for birding, the park is well endowed with quite a number of bird species, that is with birds like the Red capped Robin Chart, Shoe Bill Stork Red-chested Flufftail, African Pitta, Cabanis Greenbul etc.
Others include White-chinned Prinia and Banded Prinia, Pink-footed Puff back, Black-and-White Flycatcher, Olive Sunbird, Green Sunbird and Superb Sunbird, Mountain Wagtail, Velvet-mantled Drongo, Purple-headed Starling, Black-necked Weaver, Dark-backed Weaver, and Red-headed Bluebill White-headed Wood Hoopoe, Crowned Hornbill, Yellow bill, Narina Trogon, Joyful and Honeyguide Bulbuls, Streaky-throated Barbet, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Wahlberg’s Honey bird, Cassin’s Honey bird, Masked Apalis and many more. Day 13; Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast you will en-route to Murchison Falls National Park, transient through the prominent Luwero Triangle known for its political history. Dinner and over night at Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya river lodge/red chilli camp.
Day 14; Game drive in Murchison Falls National Pak
The park is situated in the Albertine rift valley where large escarpment blends in to the vast plains of Acholi land. One of the most scenic game reserves of the country.
Enjoy game drives in the park, you may you sight animals like the Elephant, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Antelopes and many more. Dinner and over night.
Day 15; Boat cruise to the Bottom of the Falls
After an early morning breakfast have a boat ride on the mighty River Nile, where you get to view schools of hippos, crocodiles, and waterfalls.
The shores also are endowed with different bird species like the African fish eagle, lapwings, pied and malachite kingfisher, eaglets and may others. The boat cruise leads to the bottom of the strongest falls in the world. Dinner and over night. Optional: 4 days Murchison Falls Wildlife safari
Day 16; Drive back to Kampala.
