This is a complete 7 nights/8 days Uganda safari taking you through game drives, launch/boat cruises in the 2 vast savanna parks- Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Gorilla trekking is part of this long Uganda safari and you will be visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where 20 habituated gorilla families are found. Bwindi lies in Kabale, Southwestern Uganda and there are 4 regions/sectors each with habituated gorilla groups. The sectors include Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkuringo and Buhoma.
Murchison is perched in the Northwest, 5-6 hours’ drive and it is a home to Murchison Falls- one of the powerful waterfalls in the world plus 4 of the big 5 game. Extending on area of 3840sq.kms, Murchison Falls NP protects over 76 mammals, 451 bird species, primates, reptiles and others.

Detailed itinerary for the 8 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park safari from Kampala: After breakfast, go visit Uganda’s biggest safari park, located in the Northwest about 6 hours’ drive. Murchison is 3840sq.kms and a home to 4 of the big 5 game, but while en-route expect to stopover for rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
The 2 hours’ rhino tracking experience will be enjoyed exploring about rhino and together with 4 of the big game in Murchison, then you have a complete big five game safari. Exit Ziwa for lunch in a hotel at Masindi then head to Murchison Falls N/Park. A visit to the top of the falls will be done on arrival at Murchison.

Day 2: Murchison Falls – Game drive, launch trip & hike to the top of the falls
Enjoy 3-4 hours’ game drive along the Northern bank and in a full-time 4WD vehicle, there are several wildlife, birds to see including elephants, hartebeests, buffaloes, giraffes, oribis.
Others include lions, leopards, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and later, settle for lunch back in the lodge.
A boat cruise along the Nile will be during afternoon hours taking 2-3 hours and expect to have the best of panoramic view at the bottom of the falls.
Expected sightings on a boat cruise range from hippos, crocodiles, birds like kingfishers, bee-eaters, cormorants, fish eagles etc. After the panoramic view at the bottom of the falls, embark on a trek up to the top of the falls.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP)
Depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park taking long hours of driving via Fort Portal where you will have a leisurely lunch.
Queen Elizabeth NP is a vast Uganda safari park with over 620 bird species including migratory birds; primates like chimpanzees, the tree climbing lions, antelopes etc.

Day 4: Game Drive, Boat Cruise
Game drive along Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth N/Park takes 3-4 hours. You will be encountering lots of mammals such as buffaloes, lions, bush elephants, bush bucks, leopards, warthogs, lots of birds and other antelopes.
Boat cruise on Kazinga channel during afternoon time 2-3 hours with an experienced park guide. On an extensive Kazinga boat cruise, there are hundreds of hippos, crocodiles, birds to see to and back.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
We start the 6th day of the 8 days Uganda Safari by Briefing about gorilla trekking rules and gorilla families allocation will be done between 7:00am and 8:00am.
At 8:00am, the park guide takes over and leads you on 2-6 hours search for mountain gorillas if it is in Buhoma, the gorilla groups to track include Mubare, Habinyanja, Rushegura and Katwe. Today, you advise that you go with adequate drinking water, snacks and all essentials for gorilla trekking.
Walk back to where you began your trek, get certificate and transfer to the lodge for relaxation. You have a chance to visit the Batwa pygmies who lived in the forest for thousands of years, have an in-depth learning about their cultures, traditions etc.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi transfer 2 hours’ drive from Bwindi National Park: Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake and the second deepest in Africa lies right in Kabale district.
This scenic lake has 29 islands spread on it and has depth range of 44m and 900m. Visiting Lake Bunyonyi is a great chance to have full day exploring it, on a boat ride to any of the islands while sighting birds, relaxation on its shores, swimming etc.
Day 8: Depart – End of 8 days Uganda Safari
Depart from L. Bunyonyi for Kampala with en-route stopover at Equator crossing and then transfer to a hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
